Frequently asked

3
  • I lost my passport. What now?

Police report at the nearest *Polizeiinspektion* (free, 30 min). Then your embassy issues a temporary passport — usually 1–3 working days.

  • Is the ambulance free?

With ÖGK student insurance: emergency ride and treatment fully covered. Tourists pay ≈ €350 unless they have an EHIC card or travel insurance.

  • Are there 24-hour pharmacies in Vienna?

No single 24-hour pharmacy, but the rotating *Bereitschaftsdienst* always has one open per district. Look for the green cross with "DIENSTBEREIT".
